Cat & Dog Imaging and Diagnostics in Temperance, MI
Understanding your pet's internal health and being able to detect underlying physical changes requires an in-depth approach. Temperance Animal Hospital possesses a complete in-house laboratory, digital radiography and ultrasonography to accommodate the needs of every patient. Diagnostics are not only important when we need to treat sick pets; they also provide us with a more complete picture of your pet's overall health.
Certain conditions may manifest as outward signs on your pet, but that only provides us with a small piece of the entire puzzle. Our diagnostic tools can provide us with the information we need to treat pets fully and keep them healthy. Schedule a consultation by calling us at (734) 847-6751 or make an appointment online.
Digital X-ray is one of the most common imaging techniques in use. We are proud to have ultramodern X-ray technology that produces clearer images in a shorter amount of time. This means less handling and stress for your pet, and a higher-quality image for us to review.
One of our doctors may recommend X-rays for your pet if they suspect arthritis, broken bones, heart problems or an intestinal blockage. In addition, we can study the chest, abdominal and skeletal systems in greater detail, and perform O.F.A.* evaluations.
*O.F.A. stands for the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, a certifying body that evaluates canine hip and elbow joints to determine whether they are predisposed to hip dysplasia and other problems.
Ultrasonography for Dogs and Cats
Ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive tool that uses soundwaves instead of radiation to produce images of the internal organs. Ultrasound procedures are ideal for capturing moving, real-time images of the abdominal and chest cavities, as well as diagnosing pregnancies.
We also have the ability to perform echocardiography, a special ultrasound evaluation of heart function. Additionally, we can detect tumors and fluid in the abdomen and study the shape, texture and size of individual internal organs.
Our team members will always go above and beyond to help your pet feel as comfortable as possible during their diagnostic procedure. If you would like to know more about what to expect or need to discuss your pet's test results, let us know at (734) 847-6751.
